November 2022
Protect Todos Santos rallies against unauthorized coastal development as the municipality issues a contested building permit for dune lot construction on Vista Ballenas. Over 150 community members joined protests at both the Cultural Center and construction site, prompting immediate municipal attention. Attorney John Moreno leads legal action against permit violations, with approximately 30 complaints and 12 lawsuits filed regarding PDU (Programa de Desarrollo Urbano) infractions. The organization also highlights emerging concerns in Las Tunas, where developers are attempting to circumvent residential tourist zoning restrictions with unauthorized hotel-style developments. These projects, appearing along Calle Mango and Vista Ballenas, represent a growing trend of non-compliant construction threatening the area's residential character. Through community action and legal advocacy, Protect Todos Santos continues its mission to enforce development regulations and preserve the region's environmental integrity.

August 2022
Protect Todos Santos, a newly formed coalition of Mexican nationals and foreign citizens, launches its first monthly newsletter addressing urgent environmental and developmental challenges in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur. The organization targets three critical issues: uncontrolled overdevelopment, coastal dune destruction, and water scarcity. With property values rising, the community faces increasing pressure from developers seeking to bypass the Community Development Plan (PDU). Through legal action, community organizing, and environmental advocacy, Protect Todos Santos works to preserve the area's natural beauty and sustainable development. Recent initiatives include establishing a Dune Alert system, engaging with real estate agents about protected coastal areas, and pursuing legal action against non-compliant construction projects. The organization seeks community support through membership, donations, and active participation in preservation efforts. Together with local attorney John Moreno and architect Adriana Campo, Protect Todos Santos aims to enforce existing regulations and establish stronger oversight of development permits.
